Out in October

Come celebrate your story and our community!

On Saturday October 11, 2025, we are having our annual Out in October Festival! Join us at The Bluff at Henry Geoge Park in Fairhope!  Enjoy the beautiful view, music, community and all the wonderful people that make up all of the wonderful people that are apart of and support the LGBTQ community in Baldwin County

National Coming Out Day

Every year in October, the LGBTQ+ community celebrates National Coming Out Day to commemorate the journey of self-discovery and courage it takes to openly embrace one’s sexual orientation, gender identity and expression. Coming out is a unique experience for each LGBTQ+ person. For some, it can be a simple matter of correcting someone else’s assumptions or introducing their partner. For others, coming out remains a challenge. The fear of facing discrimination, bullying or judgment causes many LGBTQ+ people to stay "in the closet," struggling with anxiety while they strive to be themselves. Talking about coming out and sharing our stories can strengthen our community while we support one another. Coming out can be daunting and scary, but it also can be the first time LGBTQ+ individuals are able to be truly open with the people closest to them.

At Coloring the Eastern Shore, we are celebrating everyone’s experience and journey with our Out in October Festival! We are inviting members of the LGBTQ+ community and our allies to come and celebrate with music, food and fun on Saturday, Oct. 11!
